What a great day! Opening ceremonies were energetic and uplifting. Our national president Lily Eskelsen García spoke passionately about issues that surround education. Today is a quiet day, registration to the RA and both the Woman’s and LGBTQ Caucuses. We have tackled 10 new business items and are excited for the debates to begin.
On July 5, we will be hearing from many of the Democratic presidential contenders, I can’t wait for that event. For any Trump supporters let me add, he was invited to join us but declined to address the largest labor union in the United States.

Six members of MLEA took advantage of scholarships and attended the summer academy sponsored by OEA. We took advantage of multiple trainings in topics ranging from communications, organizing, school improvement, professional issues to government relations.
